karl-tepfer > Those living in the New York area may recall the heavy snow that began late afternoon on Christmas day in 2001. Well it kept snowing all night so I got up before dawn to capture the first light of the day in Central Park. It was a slippery, toe numbing, isolated hike to get to this spot. Glad I did it.

(Sorry about the obnoxious watermark...I discovered many people were stealing this image...)

karl-tepfer > Snake River Overlook at Dusk. This was at the precise location where Ansel Adams took one of his iconic images. During the 50 years that have passed since he was there, some of the trees have grown and now hide a portion of the Snake River. Had to climb a rock wall to get to the best location on the edge of a rather steep cliff.
I was, surprisingly, completely alone at this spot during this sunset so this is certainly a unique shot. © 2005 Karl Tepfer
