karl-tepfer > U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. These planes were essentially heading straight down towards the ocean when they made this sharp turn. Quite impressive.
karl-tepfer > Taken during practice session for Thunderbird show on Memorial Day at Jones Beach, New York. This was "Lead Solo" plane during a very fast fly-by. Note that the "#5" was on the upsode down plane was actually right side up.. These pilots are amazing. In the original shot, you can read the pilot's name as well as recognize all the flags on the side of the plane which I assume indicate locations the jet has flown over.

(I put this in the "Seascape" gallery since I was standing at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean when I took this. The show was right over the ocean directly in front of me.)
