karl-tepfer > Fire Island Lighthouse, February 21, 2008. I seem to keep returning to this same location and am typically rewarded with a surprise. Sometimes, (as can be seen in the next two images) as in the winter of 2004 there was a snow path. Today, I spent about 45 minutes standing in or nearly in freezing water to capture this reflection. I waited until some of the frozen water melted to get a better reflection shot.
Some people walked by me towards the lighthouse, took the tour, then when returning passed me, still standing in the water on the way back. At least they knew to walk quickly so they wouldn't be in my image! (Either that or they thought I was not quite right)
