It was the last building to fall on September 11th, and the first one rebuilt. This image was taken May 22, 2008 on during the 125th Birthday Celebration of the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge. karl-tepfer > A few minutes after the fireworks celebrating the Brooklyn Bridge 125th Birthday on May 22, 2008. This unique lighting of the two towers of the bridge took place for only three nights. The bright light in the lower left was for the T.V. cameras and reporters covering the event. The reflection of one of the reporters can be seen in the East River.

Fortunately on this evening, late in May, they were lit during the tail end of the photographic "magic hour" (one hour before sunrise or one hour after sunset). This accounts for the unusual blue sky.
