Artist Profile: Dr. Karl S. Tepfer

Karl has participated in a number of advanced workshops offered by the Rocky Mountain School of Photography and Popular Photography and Imaging. Karl was the principle photographer for the 9/11/03 American Red Cross ceremony at the Statue of Liberty honoring families who lost relatives at the World Trade Center. As a result of competitions, a number of his photographs are now on permanent display at various hospitals in the NY metropolitan area. Two photographs also won the honor of being featured in the 2002 calendar and two were just selected as winning the competition for inclusion in the 2008 calendar (hanging on walls now!) distributed to every household (750,000) in the Town of Hempstead, NY. Karl’s images are on display and available for purchase in numerous retail shops as well as various art festivals.

I'm proud to announce that my "Tribute in Lights" gallery has been chosen for inclusion in the Home Ground web site. Home Ground is a project which focuses on reaching out to 9/11 rescue and recovery workers who may continue to feel the impact of the loss of peers and/or the stressful conditions of that unique work.

Me at 13,223 feet on top of a mountain in Colorado. If I had taken a few steps back you wouldn't be reading this!
