The pathway, mossy trees and leaves were glistening from the rain, which served to enhance this image. It is uncropped, and minimal post-processing was carried out.

karl-tepfer > Using slower shutter speeds (1/6 of a seconed in this case) to smooth out the water and reflection. During one of the exposures, this flock of geese happened to fly by. The etherial quality, I found, quite pleasing and evocative. Comments, as always, welcome.....

karl-tepfer > Fall Colors at their Peak. Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park covers over 400 acres and is located between Oyster Bay and Locust Valley on Long Island. It was was the home of William Robertson Coe, an insurance and railroad executive, and his wife Mary "Mai" Huttleston Coe, the youngest daughter of millionaire industrialist Henry H. Rogers, who had been a principal of Standard Oil. It includes the sixty-five-room Coe Hall, greenhouses, gardens, woodland paths, and outstanding plant collections. Its grounds were designed by Guy Lowell, A. R. Sargent, the Olmsted Brothers, and others. Coe Hall, was constructed between 1918 and 1921 in the Tudor Revival style and faced in Indiana limestone. The estate was deeded to the State of New York in 1949 (during Mr. Coe's lifetime) to become a state park
